Allo ! My name is Jonah and I'm a 2nd year science student studying subjects like physiology and anatomy :) Taking photos at events pays for my groceries, petrol and bills, I love playing soccer and basketball and I enjoy a really hearty home-cooked meal.
I believe God created us as relational beings, and because of that I love connecting with all different kinds of people. I love sharing food with old friends and new friends, long drives make lifelong friendships, and I think hi-fiving is the greeting of all greetings.
The greatest relationship in my life however, is my relationship with God. I honestly can't fathom how the creator of the universe would ever want to have anything to do with me, and I am humbled by his amazing love in sending Jesus to reconcile our broken relationship !
Come say hi to me if you see me ! Apparently I'm pretty scary, but if you greet me with a Hi-5 I'm sure we'll get along :)
Hi, I'm Moshe, a second year science student who's currently exploring the fascinating worlds of chemistry and genetics. I grew up on a farm in southern NSW, which was, at least during the summer, flat, hot, and dusty! I really enjoy active stuff in the outdoors, reading, and pretty much anything of a competitive nature.
I am completely awed that I get to know God through Jesus, and really excited to keep on discovering more about how Jesus' story relates to every area of my life. And I'd love for you to get to know Him as well :)
Hi! My name is Megan and I'm a first year Arts student hoping to major in International Politics and Chinese. I'm a Melbourne import, originally from a Gippsland dairy farm - which means I can spend hours talking about cows, grass and the weather - and I'm currently living at International House. I've also spent a year living in Denmark on exchange, where I discovered a love for languages and culture. I enjoy also sports, gardening, fellowship with friends and getting to know new people, so if you see me around, please come up and say hi!
My relationship with God is my rock, the constant in all the highs and lows of life. I think its amazing that a God so great would be willing to pay the ultimate price for my sin, so that I can have a personal relationship with him. Through my involvement in CU, my relationship with God has grown so much stronger, and I hope and pray that others can share in the awesome love that God has for us.
I would love to be able to get to know everyone at CU, so definitely come and say hi!
Howdy! My name's Peter and I am a second year Science student planning to major in Mechanical Engineering, but also studying high level maths and Linguistics on the side. I like playing badminton and bowling in my spare time, and I enjoy wasting my time (and money) at uni buying pizza and Slurpees!
What I truly love, though, is the act of worship. From stacking chairs at my church to belting out a chorus at NTE, I thoroughly enjoy praising God whenever I get the chance, worshiping Him for His mighty act of redeeming love for us in Jesus. If you spot me at any CU event (I'm pretty tall, you can't miss me), say hello! I'll 'CU' there!
Hey everyone ! My name is Bec, and I’m in first-year science. I might sometimes pretend that I want to be a psychologist when I graduate, but my actual dream is to become one of those violinists who play in the orchestra behind singers on TV. I have an obsession with all things turquoise, and I can’t cook to save my life; on one occasion, I electrocuted myself twice while attempting to test my homemaking abilities.
God has been there for me in difficult times, and because of this, I’ve learnt of the need to depend on Him wholeheartedly, even when life seems to be going well. His infinite grace and love are being shown to me every day, and it’s these amazing gifts that I want to share with all who are willing to listen.
Christian Union is the perfect means to this end, and provides an awesome platform to learn about the Bible, everything Jesus has done for us, and the eternal consequences this has for us, so I’m super excited to be able to serve both God and the students of Melbourne University in CU !
If we haven’t met, come and show me some shiny turquoise things and I promise we’ll have some pretty cool conversations !
