The Arts Interest Group is for anyone studying Arts, Education, Media and Communication and Law.
It exists for those who want to investigate Jesus' claims for themselves, and for those who want to live for Him and encourage others to do the same.
We aim to engage well with Melbourne University's Arts cultures and philosophies, and have fun.

LEADER PROFILE

Hi! I’m Tom, the Arts IG leader. I’m third year Arts, majoring in History and doing a bit of Psychology and Geography on the side. I love second-hand bookshops, reading historical biographies, quality comedy TV shows, almost all sports (especially American Football, Rugby and Cricket) and having a chat over a good coffee.
I’ve lived in Australia for 5 years now, but did most of my growing up in Kenya in Africa. I’ve also lived in the UK and the Middle East. Spending time in a number of different countries has given me a great appreciation for the individual and cultural diversity of the world. I reckon that our university years are a great opportunity to not only learn academically but also be formed in the way we think and relate to the world we live in and the people around us.
As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ offers us the best way to relate to the world, to other people, and most importantly to God. Being involved in Christian Union has really helped me grow in my maturity as a Christian and understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus. It’s been great being involved in CU over the last 2 years. I’ve learnt how to read and study the Bible more seriously, how to talk to my friends about what I believe, and I’ve been encouraged by being a part of a great Christian community.
If we haven’t been introduced, come and have a chat! I’d love to meet you.
