Melbourne University Christian Union Science (MUCUS) is a group especially for science students who want to find out more about who Jesus is and what Christianity is all about. It is open to Christians and non-Christians alike. If you're interested in finding out more please contact us, or just come along to a small group or social event. We'd love to see you there!

Events
MUCUS Lunch
When? Every Monday 12-2pm
Where? Lawn between Wilson Hall and Raymond Priestly (map ref. G16) or 2nd floor, Union House if it rains.
What/Why? A group of science students getting together to catch up, chill, relax, take a break from study, have lunch together. A great place to meet other science students, and also to bring along your friends. You can come for as long or as short as your timetable/interest allows. =D

Bible Studies
In first semester, we will be looking at the book of 1 Peter. The times are listed below. For locations and info on specific Bible Studies, please head over to the Christian Union Homepage and tick the box on the calendar that says Science Bible Studies.

Leader Profiles
Hello!!! =) I'm Ali, I am a third year science student doing such subjects as microbiology, biochemistry and animal health. Ok, I confess... I am a bit of a nerd... I love Doctor Who, reading sci fi/fantasty novels, "Lord of the Rings" and Star Wars but don't let that fool you as I am also secretly "arty." =P I draw cartoons, love creative projects, write and have a general love for books, music and art! (But shhhh... Don't tell anyone in the Arts Interest Group ;)...) Lets not forget sport! Cricket, football, soccer, netball, waterpolo... yep I love playing them all and watching them! I am country girl (the photo above is of me and my beautiful, beautiful horse...) and I simply adore being outside! =) Oh yeah, I do use wayy too many smiley faces! ;) =P
I smile a lot because of the amazing Grace from God shown to me by Jesus Christ and I wish for everyone to share in this joy! =) Melbourne Uni Christian Union has been amazing to be part of as I have grown in my faith as a Christian, met some amazing people and have been given opportunities to serve God in unique and exciting ways! =) I love talking and meeting people but don't despair if I haven't met you yet because a) I hope we do and b) you have most definitely heard me laugh! =D X
Hey I'm Mike and I am starting my first year of Master of Engineering, after just completing my Bachelor of Science last year. I'm studying to be a chemical engineer, which many people think is someone who is paid to blow things up!!! =O If I told you exactly what I study it would probably blow something up, but that may be your mind! Anyway I really enjoy it, even though other people don't always get it! =D
My interests but also my weaknessses around exam time, include sport (any type, but be warned I am highly competitive) and puzzles (just not the cryptic crossword).
My biggest weakness however, is that like all people I fail to live in obedience to God and therefore am under God's punishment. The Good News though is that God loves me so much that He sent Jesus to take away my punishment. This LOVE of God fills me with such great hope in tough times, and is what really drives me to be involved in Christian Union because what matters is that God's love is for everyone and not just for me. I wish you all the very best for your time at Melbourne Uni, and I hope I get the opportunity to meet you at some stage!!!
